Mission and Vision

Mission: “To inspire and value Eeyou-Eenou Iskweu through healing, culture and socio-economic development.”

The organization strives to inspire Cree women toward self-empowerment and development. CWEIA serves as an advocate for gender equity and equality, supporting women entrepreneurs individually and collectively while promoting healing, cultural initiatives, and economic growth.

Vision: “We are strong, united and resilient Eeyou-Eenou Iskwaauch as we embrace our nurturing roles towards sustaining harmonious families, communities and nation.”

Our vision emphasizes four key aspirations:

  1. Strength and Resilience — Cree women developing self-knowledge, cultural reconnection, and promoting leadership across governance spheres.
  2. Harmonious Relationships — Focus extends beyond individual women to families and communities, reflecting Cree values of empathy and sustainability.
  3. Holistic Health — Embracing physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual dimensions of wellness, including healing from historical trauma.
  4. Cultural Foundation — Strong Cree culture, language, and traditions as essential guidelines for community development.
